Justin Landry
USA
Hi! I'm Justin Landry, and I have been influenced by music ever since I got my Nintendo, way back in the day. I remember the music had inspired me, but I had no way of putting it down. Enter my now old and obsolete piece of cowpie, my Packard Smell (Yes, SMELL, the comp was THAT bad!) 486/50/4. The only thing good on that was the song files, in a format I did not recognise back then - .mid . I started a small collection of MIDI files on that thing, because I loved 'em so much. Fast forward to November '97. I'd aquired a new computer to replace the old dinosaur, a PIIMMX/233/160(was 32). I kept collecting MIDI files until 1998, whem my mom bought me something that would become my life - A SEQUENCER!!!! I didn't know how to use that one, as I longed for piano roll...until one day, one of my friends gave me an old, outdated version of Cakewalk. I just fell in love right then and there. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I've only worked on one game so far. A freeware game called Bubble Trouble, developed by Ferox Software. I've composed 2 of the 5 in-game songs. (there are only 5 stages)
I get inspiration from mostly anything; most of the time I can just grab a melody out of thin air, and work with that.
I prefer soothing, flowing pieces, but sometimes I can pump out a good rock tune. I'm getting into Celtic music too.
Influences? Heh...does Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda count? :P
